NuTap is a 100% digital point of sale that works directly on a cell phone, within the Nubank’s PJ account app: without extra devices, monthly fees, or membership costs, and with transactional fees up to 30% lower compared to those of other brands. With NuTap, merchants gain more practicality, agility, security, and transparency to process payments with credit, debit cards, and also free Pix (digital money transfers).
How does it work? The customer just needs to position their credit or debit card on the back of the merchant's cellphone and the payment will be made by proximity (also called contactless) – 100% secure the card data and password are protected by encryptions and are not shared with merchants.
If the customer has a digital wallet, either on their cell phone or on a smartwatch, it is also as easy as bringing their device close to the merchant’s device with NuTap and simply paying. This is only possible thanks to a wireless communication technology called NFC. Both the customer's and the merchant's devices must have this technology to allow NuTap to work.
Small Business and Entrepeneurs customers of our PJ account can request NuTap directly on the Nu app. How? On the home screen, they can click on the “Conheça o NuTap” button and follow the installation process.
